That experiencing hypertensive urgency may or may not experience one or more of these symptoms: severe headache, shortness of breath, nosebleeds, and severe anxiety, chest pain, back pain, numbness/weakness, change in vision, difficulty speaking do not wait to see if your pressure comes down on its own. Seek immediately medical assistance and/or call 9-1-1.
SN instructed patient about Coreg is a beta blocker used for heart failure, hypertension or after a MI. Side effects include dizziness, shortness of breath, slow heart rate, lightheadedness, weight gain, swelling of feet and legs. Avoid getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy. Get up slowly and steady yourself to prevent a fall.
SN instructed patient and caregiver about Clonidine, it is used alone or with other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Possible SE/AR may include: dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, dry mouth, or constipation may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water, or use a saliva substitute. Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: fainting, slow/irregular heartbeat, mental/mood changes like, irritability, depression.
Patient was instructed about Taztia ( Diltiazem ), it belongs to a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing the muscles of your heart and blood vessels. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (chest pain), and certain heart rhythm disorders. Possible SE/AR may include, dizziness. When you sit or lie down for a while, get up slowly to allow your body to adjust and minimize dizziness. Also may also experience bloating, heartburn, muscle cramps, headache, flushing, nasal congestion, sore throat, constipation or diarrhea. Inform your doctor if they become bothersome. Notify your doctor if you develop, breathing difficulties, swelling of the hands or feet, an irregular heartbeat.

SN instructed that the lisinopril is a drug of the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor class used primarily in treatment of hypertension. If any of the following side effects occur please report to physician / nurse : Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing, blistering, peeling, red skin rash, confusion, weakness, uneven heartbeat, trouble breathing, numbness or tingling in your hands, feet, or lips, dark urine or pale stools.

Vitamin D is important for the absorption of calcium from the stomach and for the functioning of calcium in the body.Possible hypervitaminosis D effects: polyuria, nocturia, polydipsia, hypercalciuria, reversible azotemia, hypertension, nephrocalcinosis, generalized vascular calcification, irreversible renal insufficiency (may be fatal), mental retardation, widespread soft tissue calcification, osteoporosis, dwarfism, vague aches, stiffness, weakness, nausea, anorexia, constipation, mild acidosis, anemia, weight loss.

Approximately one-half of people who need dialysis have kidney disease from diabetes.With that, tight control of blood sugar must be done by avoiding concentrated sweets and high-carbohydrate content foods.Diabetic patients with hypertension have a special lower blood pressure target of less than 130 / 80 mmHg to reduce cardiovascular risk and delay progression of kidney disease.

Explained that Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker that is used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and some types of arrhythmia. Explained that the side effects of this medication includes stuffy nose, skin rash or itching, dizziness, headache, tired feeling, nausea or warmth, itching, redness, or tingly feeling under your skin. Instructed to notify Physician if experiencing persistence or worsening of medication side effects.
