chronic kidney disease/1000
SN educated patient/caregiver about CKD. Chronic
kidney
disease (CKD) means your kidney
s are damaged and can’t filter blood the way they should. The main risk factors for developing kidney
disease are diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and a family history of kidney
failure. You can take steps to protect your kidney
s. The most important step you can take to treat kidney
disease is to control your blood pressure. Healthy habits can also help you manage your kidney
disease.
Diabetic Chronic
Kidney
disease Treatment for diabetic kidney
disease includes controlling blood pressure and blood sugar levels, reducing dietary protein intake, avoiding medications that may damage the kidney
s, treating urinary tract infections and exercise and weight loss (under the supervision of a physician).
SN instructed patient on diabetes and kidney
problem, that diabetes mellitus ( DM ) is one of the leading cause of kidney
failure in the United States. Approximately one-half of people who need dialysis have kidney
disease from diabetes. With that, tight control of blood sugar must be done by avoiding concentrated sweets and high-carbohydrate content foods.Diabetic patients with hypertension have a special lower blood pressure target of less than 130 / 80 mmHg to reduce cardiovascular risk and delay progression of kidney
disease.
Instructed patient how is chronic
kidney
disease treated. Control your blood sugar if you have diabetes. Keep a healthy blood pressure. Follow a low-salt, low-fat diet. Exercise at least 30 minutes on most days of the week. Keep a healthy weight. Do not smoke or use tobacco.
SN instructed patient on Paget disease. Paget disease is a chronic
bone disorder. Most people who have Paget disease of bone have no symptoms. When symptoms occur, the most common complaint is bone pain. Paget disease can cause pain in the bones or joints, headaches and hearing loss, pressure on nerves, increased head size, bowing of limb, or curvature of spine. Because this disease causes your body to generate new bone faster than normal, the rapid remodeling produces bone that's softer and weaker than normal bone, which can lead to bone pain, deformities and fractures. To reduce your risk of complications associated with Paget disease of bone, try these tips, prevent falls by using assistive devices like a walker or cane, fall - proof your home. Remove slippery floor coverings, use nonskid mats in your bathtub or shower, eat well. Be sure your diet includes adequate levels of calcium and vitamin D, which helps bones absorb calcium and exercise regularly. Regular exercise is essential for maintaining joint mobility and bone strength.
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions. At first, someone with Alzheimer's disease may notice mild confusion and difficulty remembering. Eventually, people with the disease may even forget important people in their lives and undergo dramatic personality changes. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia — a group of brain disorders that cause the loss of intellectual and social skills. In Alzheimer's disease, the brain cells degenerate and die, causing a steady decline in memory and mental function. At first, increasing forgetfulness or mild confusion may be the only symptoms of Alzheimer's disease that you notice. But over time, the disease robs you of more of your memory, especially recent memories. The rate at which symptoms worsen varies from person to person.
Patient and CG instructed on Pravastatin. Pravastatin is used to lower cholesterol and triglycerides (types of fat) in the blood. Pravastatin is also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, and other heart complications in people with or without coronary heart disease or other risk factors. Pravastatin can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney
failure. This condition may be more likely to occur in older adults and in people who have kidney
disease or poorly controlled hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to pravastatin: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. In rare cases, pravastatin can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney
failure. Stop using and call your doctor at once if you have:unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness; fever, unusual tiredness; dark colored urine; chest pain; upper stomach pain, loss of appetite; or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). Common pravastatin side effects may include: muscle or joint pain; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; headache; or cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat.
Instructed that High blood pressure (hypertension) is a leading cause of kidney
disease and kidney
failure (end-stage renal disease). Hypertension can cause damage to the blood vessels and filters in the kidney
, making removal of waste from the body difficult. SN instructed patient about some measures aimed to managing & controlling hypertension, such as: eating low sodium diet , increase more fruits to increase your potassium, walk daily for 30 minutes, and have regular check-ups, as directed by Physician.
Instructed patient that Hypertensive heart disease refers to heart conditions caused by high blood pressure. The heart working under increased pressure causes some different heart disorders. Hypertensive heart disease can lead to complications such as : thickening of the heart muscle, coronary artery disease, chronic
kidney
disease and other conditions such as heart failure if not controlled. Follow your MD's orders for Heart Healthy diet, exercise as tolerated and take medications as prescribed.
Instructed in management and control such as diet as prescribed by MD, adequate hydration 1000-2000cc 24 hours if not contraindicated, importance of high protein (meat, legumes, eggs, daily), iron and vitamin supplements if indicated.
