High blood cholesterol is first treated with exercise, weight loss, and a diet low in cholesterol and saturated fats. When these measures fail, cholesterol-lowering medications
such as Simvastatin can be added.
Patient instructed LOVENOX®, like all medications
, may have side effects. The most common include
mild reactions or irritation, pain, bruising, and redness of the skin where you have the injection.
Amlodipine is used alone or in combination with other medications
to treat high blood pressure and chest pain (angina). SN instructs the patient about the new medication Amlodipine / Benaz may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting, especially when you get up suddenly from a lying or sitting position, if you feel dizzy, lie down so you do not faint. Then sit for a few moments before standing to prevent the dizziness from returning. If you faint, call your doctor right away.
Instructed patient/caregiver on general precautions while taking aspirin: take with food, milk, or large glass of water to decrease gastric symptoms. (Enteric coated or buffered may be better tolerated.); avoid alcohol due to possible internal bleeding; only take the recommended amount; use cautiously with Asthma; observe and report s/s of bleeding (easy bruising, bleeding gums, black stools); discard medications
if vinegar odor is present; do not take antacids due to decreased effectiveness; avoid chewing or crushing enteric coated.
SN advised patient be sure to tell all your doctors and dentist about all of the medications
you are taking, including those you are taking without a prescription, such as aspirin or other NSAIDs. Also be sure to tell your doctor or dentist you are taking.

relax blood vessels and increase the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart while also reducing the heart's workload.
SN instructed patient and caregiver about Clonidine, it is used alone or with other medications
to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Possible SE/AR may include: dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, dry mouth, or constipation may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water, or use a saliva substitute. Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: fainting, slow/irregular heartbeat, mental/mood changes like, irritability, depression.
SN instructed that Tradjenta is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications
to control high blood sugar. It is used by people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
SN instructed patient / caregiver that Ophthalmic erythromycin is used to treat bacterial infections of the eye. It is also used to prevent bacterial infections of the eye in newborn babies. Erythromycin is in a class of medications
called macrolide antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria that cause infections. Erythromycin eye ointment may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these, symptoms are severe or do not go away, redness, itching, stinging, or burning of the eye.
SN instructed that the Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications
to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metformin works by helping to restore your body's proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. It also decreases the amount of sugar that your liver makes and that your stomach/intestines absorb.
