To prevent disease it is recommend eating lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat or nonfat dairy products and limiting foods high in salt, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, and added sugar.
Patient was instructed on Osteoporosis. Limit alcohol use. Heavy alcohol use can decrease bone formation, and it clearly increases the risk of falling. However, some studies show moderate alcohol use (no more than 2 drinks a day for men and 1 drink a day for a women) is linked to higher bone density.
Instructed on some factors that may increase the risk of developing/exacerbating Osteoporosis, such as: decreased estrogen levels in post-menopausal women.
