Instructed patient how Lovenox is used to reduce the chance of blood clots when another blood thinner is stopped for a short time. For example, if you take warfarin and need surgery, your doctor may ask you to stop taking warfarin for a short time before the surgery. You will take enoxaparin to help prevent blood clots before the surgery. After the surgery, your doctor will tell you when it is safe to start taking warfarin again. This is called bridge therapy.
SN instructed patient and caregiver on side effects of amoxicillin/clavulanate. Along with its needed effects, amoxicillin/clavulanate may cause some unwanted effects. SN educated patient on sucralfate medication. Patient was instructed that this medication is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the intestines. Sucralfate forms a coating over ulcers, protecting the area from further injury. This helps ulcers heal more quickly. Patient verbalized understanding.
SN to educate patient concerning the use of gabapentin is to increased pain relief affects by using the CNS to decrease symptoms of pain and assist Tramadol or other prescribed pain medications, even Tylenol ER in ultimate pain relief. SN to advise patient to not allow pain level to linger for long periods of time; try taking either drug 30mins or so apart, only when due at prescribed times.
SN explained to patient that Diflucan is used to treat serious fungal or yeast infections, such as urinary tract infections. It works by stopping the growth of Candida. It usually starts to work within one day, but it may take 3 days for your symptoms to improve and up to 7 days for your symptoms to disappear. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset/pain, headache, dizziness, or hair loss may occur while using Diflucan.
Educated patient on side effects of macrobid. Some of the side effects include: changes in facial skin color, general feeling of discomfort or illness, hives, itching, skin rash, sudden trouble in swallowing or breathing., swelling of the face, mouth, hands, or feet and troubled breathing. Educated patient on new medication Cyproheptadine hydrochloride (CH) is a first-generation antihistamine which is used as an appetite stimulant.Side effects of Cyproheptadine may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:dry mouth, nose, and throat, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, chest congestion, headache, excitement (especially in children), muscle weakness. SN educated patient/caregiver on oxygen therapy. Instructed that oxygen therapy is the administration of oxygen at a higher concentration than what is found in the environment. It can be given via cannula, mask, bipap/cpap, ect. Oxygen must be ordered by a MD and administered exactly as prescribed.
