Instructed in possible adverse reactions to Lopressor, including fatigue, lethargy, dizziness, low heart rate, low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, and fever.

Instructed patient that when using Atenolol he/she should be aware of symptoms of CHF and report inmediately if they appear, for example: difficulty breathing, specially when lying down, night cough, swelling of extremities, dizziness, confusion, depression, fever.
Patient was instructed on how to react at drugs side effects: Avoid hot showers they can cause dizziness. Explained to the patient to weight at least once a week at the same time of the day, (such as the first thing in the morning) and report weight changes of more than 1 to 2 pounds in 1 week.
